All or Nothing…………The CloudApps Journey
I recently made a change in career, moving from SAP specific Change & Training recruitment to working for Speller’s sister company; CloudApps Consulting. This article provides an overview of the mine and CloudApps journey into the world of Cloud ERP recruitment.
The Reason
CloudApps was created alongside the highly successful SAP specialist sister company Speller International to offer specialist cloud ERP recruitment services.
As the Australian market has evolved over the years, many of our clients were looking at more than SAP to fulfill their ERP needs, we gradually saw more SAP clients move hybrid ERP environments utilising technologies such as Salesforce & Workday as well as many others.
We found overtime our clients were asking more and more if we could help them with non-SAP ERP roles and as Speller International only do SAP, we felt we were turning down too many opportunities. For this reason the lil baby sister CloudApps Consulting was born! With an aim to provide specialist ERP recruitment services to the Australian & APAC market.
The Journey So Far…
From my point of view, coming from 10 years of SAP focused recruitment in change & training. I have found it refreshing to learn more products outside of the SAP world and to be more focused on IT and ERP market has meant a significant learning curve.
My role here with CloudApps Consulting is slowly ticking to the one-year mark, and as I reflect on all we have achieved in that time, I feel a sense of pride and also excitement to what the next year, or dare I say… the next 10 years will hold for us.
From a team perspective we have grown from a team of one, to a team of 4 with a 5th starting very soon (watch this space). With team growth has meant we have been able to add new clients, and we have started to build our contractor workforce to a team of 15 which under tough market conditions is an achievement I am proud of.
But the big thing we have been celebrating of late is the array of different ERP products we have been learning and helping our clients with. These include Salesforce, Workday, Oracle Cloud, TechOne, ServiceNow, NetSuite and Dayforce! To name a few, and that is more ERP products that any of us could have envisaged to be involved with from such a short space of time!
Along with that we are proud to say we have completed our first assignments outside of Australia! We partnered recently with one of Hong Kongs largest employers, who were transitioning from SAP to Oracle Cloud. We were responsible for placing a senior Change Manager to help with this transition, and they packed their bags and set on an adventure to HK!
For both me and CloudApps it has been a year of learning and growing.
